Muse from Meta has held #1 on the US App Store for 19 days

Muse from Meta, Meta's AI agent app, was #1 in the US Top Free Apps chart on every day from 18 September to 6 October 2026, 19 days in a row. ChatGPT, #1 on each of the 12 days to 18 September, has been #2 or #3 since. In the week to 6 October, Muse added 71.8K US ratings, more than twice as many as Google Gemini and Claude by Anthropic together.

From #4 to #1 in nine days

Muse entered the chart on 9 September, at #4. From 10 to 17 September it was #2 or #3, and on 18 September it reached #1. It has held the top position on every day since. In the last 30 days it was in the top 10 on 28 days; on the other two, 7 and 8 September, it was not yet in the chart.

ChatGPT has not been #1 since 18 September

ChatGPT was #1 on each of the first 12 days of the last 30, from 7 to 18 September. On 18 September both apps reached #1 at some point in the day. From 19 September to 6 October ChatGPT was #2 on 13 days and #3 on five, and it stood at #3 on 6 October. It never dropped out of the top 3.

Gemini stayed in the top 10, Claude came and went

Google Gemini was #8 on 6 October and in the top 10 on 28 of the last 30 days. Its best position in that time was #4, reached on three days, most recently 17 September. Claude by Anthropic was #9 on 6 October and in the top 10 on 14 of the 30 days. Its best position in the last 90 days was #5, on 28 August.

Muse added 71.8K ratings in a week

The ratings show the same picture. In the week to 6 October Muse added almost a third as many US ratings as ChatGPT, with a total 67 times smaller. About 44% of all the US ratings Muse had on 6 October arrived in that one week.

Meta AI fell out of the top 100

Meta already had an assistant in the chart. Meta AI was #32 on 4 September and #57 on 9 September, the day Muse entered the chart. A day later it was #101. It was #158 on 15 September, came back to the 70s between 23 and 27 September and was #126 on 6 October.

The chart does not say why one Meta app rose while the other fell.

Outside the US

On 6 October each of the other three assistants held #1 in at least one other country: ChatGPT in the United Arab Emirates, Gemini in Spain and Claude in France. In the United Kingdom ChatGPT was #3, Claude #8 and Gemini #15.
