Hinge has caught up with Tinder on the US App Store

Match Group's two biggest apps now sit side by side on the US App Store. On 27 September 2026 Hinge ranked #6 among free Lifestyle apps and Tinder ranked #7. Bumblethe closest listed rival, was #18.

Level at the top of the chart

Both Match Group apps were in the top 10 of the US Top Free Lifestyle chart on every one of the last 30 days. Hinge reached higher: its best position in the last 90 days was #3, on 9 September. Tinder's was #4, on 24 September. Bumble stayed inside the top 25 for the whole month and peaked at #14.

Outside the United States the picture changes. In the United Kingdom Hinge stood at #5 and Tinder at #13. Tinder is the wider app, though: on 27 September it appeared in the Lifestyle chart of more than 30 countries, while Hinge appeared in 17.

Hinge is collecting ratings faster

Tinder has 56% more US ratings than Hinge, built up over a longer life. Over the last week it was Hinge that added more: 2,650 new ratings against Tinder's 2,268. Bumble has a ratings total as large as Tinder's and added 1,196, about half as many.

A lifetime total says how big an app has been. The weekly count says who is rating it now, which makes it the more useful of the two for following an app from week to week.

The ratings themselves differ too. One in eight of Tinder's US ratings (12%) is a single star, against 7% for Hinge and for Bumble, and Tinder's average of 4.20 is the lowest of the three.

Two apps carry the portfolio

GameQuant follows 11 iOS apps published by Match Group (NASDAQ: MTCH). After Hinge and Tinder there is a long gap. In the same US Lifestyle chart the next Match Group apps are OkCupid at #168 and The League at #172. In the US Social Networking chart Upward stands at #29, BLK at #46, Plenty of Fish at #55, Match at #60 and Chispa at #67.

Both leading apps are updated more than once a week. In the 90 days to 27 September Tinder shipped 18 updates and Hinge 13.
